Castle Hill Carib

Innkeeper Paul McEnroe takes pride in the remarkable success that Castle Hill Carib in Sint Maarten has enjoyed over the years, due in no small part to his constant attention to the smallest details concerning the comfort and enjoyment of his guests.

This ocean-view estate is situated near the Dutch/French border at Guana Bay, minutes from Philipsburg, the capital on the Dutch side. A contemporary villa with three bedrooms, three-and-half baths, and a full library, Castle Hill Carib's rooms are only rented at certain times of the year.

"It's a magnificent home. It's really very spacious and beautiful," says McEnroe. "Because Castle Hill Carib is on the ocean side, there's always a soft breeze blowing. It's very private, and the temperature remains about the same all year round," McEnroe says, adding that the comfortable climate is due to a lack of humidity.

Before making Castle Hill Carib one of the resort jewels of the Caribbean, McEnroe was for many years innkeeper at the Inn at Castle Hill in Newport. During his service there, the innkeeper helped to make the Newport inn and restaurant one of the most well-known and popular dining and lodging establishments in New England.

At Castle Hill Carib, McEnroe's lodgers can saunter through its lush gardens and enjoy the vaulted and beamed wood ceilings designed by renowned artchitect Rodney C. Williams of West Dover, Vt. In fact, McEnroe points out that guests' privacy at Castle Hill Carib is assured, with a wall enclosing the estate and an electric gate with a security guard always on duty. Maid service is also provided, he said.

Guests at Castle Hill Carib can go on a shopping spree or take advantage of some of the finest restaurants and nightclubs in the world. The villa is set amid the verdant splendor of a Caribbean paradise with easy access to beaches.

Visitors to Sint Maarten's Castle Hill Carib will find themselves settling in easily to the relaxed pace and easy living style of this Caribbean villa, nestled amid the island's embracing green hills and white beaches.
